First day back at De Kloof

It was good to be back at De Kloof today. It's been too long. Problem is that I really am getting ill and that's a very smokey environment. I came home and took a nap. Now I'm looking forward to watching a movie and sitting on the couch. I've been writing furiously on a project which may not be publishable until after my death - which hopefully won't be any time in the near future. It's alternately funny and enjoyable and then depressing and emotionall taxing. The it must be art!

I really can't wait for F to get home. Not only does he not sound great when I talk to him, but I am getting really tired of being alone all the time. It's nice to have someone here when you get home, or to have someone come home to me, which is how it usually happens.

We've had two really wonderful storms recently. Yesterday was hail, which was especially nice when I looked out in the hallway. The stairs (which I've never taken) wind up to the top floor where we are and at the top is a slanted glass roof. It was so loud and I could see the hail sticking in the ridges. I was bouncing off the walls I was so excited.

Then today we had a very nice thunderstorm. One particularly wonderful moment was when there was a flash of lightening and then a few seconds later a clap of thunder that shook the whole building. I love things like that. Car alarms went off. And being on the top floor is great. F said that when he was in the other apartment storms were even better because he was on the top floor, which was about 14 stories up. He said you could look out and see the lightening come down. That sounds wonderful - but I'd still rather look out on my Minervaplein.
