Mean Little Things

Someone wrote something mean about me in their blog. I was surprised to read the first thing. I thought, You completely misunderstood me. Then I read another bit. I was really shocked. I won't mention here where it is, I hate to give advertising to negative crap. It felt a little bad when my character was being attacked, but then I shrugged it off when it became a bit inflamitory, and he started in with complete lies.

A few weeks after my ten year high school reunion, I heard stories about myself, from people who'd talked to people. I talked to my therapist about it. I said, "The stories just take reality and explode it to gigantic proportions. I don't just have a tattoo, I am covered in tattoos. I don't just have pierced ears, everything is pierced!"

"Well," he said. "You wanted people to talk, didn't you?"

"Absolutely!" I loved it. I had this fabulously scandelous reputation without having to do any of the work.

This namesless guy is in a world of pain. It's sad and I can't do anything about it. Hopefully things will go better for him after he returns home.

Update: We called a truce. He took all his bad words about me off his blog and I erased my review of his blog. He actually made some nice changes, which was my point.
